Fixed price, agreed in writing

Pricing

We work on fixed prices, not hourly rates. Every engagement starts with a written scope that says exactly what will be built and what will be handed over. Once that scope is agreed, we issue a fixed quote in United States Dollars, and that number does not move unless you ask for work outside the scope. The figures below are starting points for typical projects; your quote is confirmed in writing before any work begins.

Service packages

Three packages cover most of the work we take on. All prices are in United States Dollars (USD) and are exclusive of any taxes that may apply in your own country.

Pipeline Repair

from$250USD

Diagnosis and repair of an existing data extraction pipeline that has stopped returning correct or complete results.

  • Written diagnostic report explaining the root cause
  • Corrected source code, delivered to your repository
  • Short documentation of every change made
  • Typical delivery: 3–7 business days
  • Two rounds of revisions included
Most requested

Custom Data Pipeline

from$750USD

A durable data extraction and integration pipeline built from scratch for the sources, schema and output format you define.

  • Full source code, structured for handover
  • Deployment instructions for your environment
  • Technical documentation covering schema and error handling
  • Typical delivery: 7–14 business days
  • Two rounds of revisions included

Monthly Maintenance Retainer

$400USD / month

Ongoing monitoring of a pipeline we built or repaired, with engineering time reserved for the weeks when a source system changes.

  • Continuous monitoring of pipeline health
  • Priority response when a source system changes
  • Routine updates and dependency upkeep
  • Written monthly status report
  • Billed in advance; can be ended before the next cycle

Payment terms

  • All prices are in United States Dollars (USD).
  • 50% is due upfront before work begins, and the remaining 50% is due on delivery.
  • Invoices are issued by Tensorway LLC, a limited liability company registered in New Mexico, USA.
  • Two rounds of revisions are included in each project, within the agreed written scope.
  • Work outside the agreed written scope is quoted separately and only starts once you approve that quote in writing.
  • The monthly maintenance retainer is billed in advance at the start of each monthly cycle.
  • Invoices are payable by card or bank transfer, and payment details are listed on each invoice.
  • Refund and cancellation conditions are set out in full in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

What affects the price

Two projects that sound alike in a first email can differ by several hundred dollars once the details are on the table. These are the factors that move a quote up or down, and we explain which of them applied to your project when we send the number.

Complexity of the source system
How many sources are involved, how deeply the data is nested, whether sessions or authenticated access are required, and how consistent the source structure is between records.
Data volume and run frequency
A one-off extraction of a few thousand records is a different piece of engineering from a job that runs every day at scale and has to recover from partial failures on its own.
Delivery speed
Standard timelines are listed above. A compressed timeline means rescheduling other committed work, and that is reflected in the quote rather than hidden in it.
Output and integration targets
Delivering a clean CSV export is simpler than writing into an existing database, warehouse or internal API with its own schema, validation rules and access controls.
Ongoing maintenance
Whether your team takes the pipeline in-house after handover or asks us to keep monitoring it under the monthly retainer.
Documentation depth
Every project ships with documentation. Some teams need more than that, such as a runbook for on-call engineers or a walkthrough session with the developers who will maintain the code.

If we do not think we can deliver what you need at a price that makes sense for both sides, we say so during scoping instead of taking the project and finding out later.

How a quote becomes a project

The same four steps apply to every engagement, from a small repair to a full pipeline build.

  1. 1

    Scope

Write down what you need and what the data is for. We reply in writing with questions until the scope is unambiguous. No call is required, and everything agreed stays on record.

  2. 2

    Fixed quote

You receive a fixed price, a list of deliverables, and a delivery date. Payment terms are 50% upfront and 50% on delivery, in USD. If the scope does not change, the price does not change.

  3. 3

    Build

We develop and test against the live source until the output matches the agreed specification. Progress is reported in writing, so you know the current state without having to ask.

  4. 4

    Delivery + 14-day support

You receive the source code, the documentation, and the deployment notes. For 14 days after delivery we correct any defect in the delivered work at no additional cost.

Frequently asked questions

Do you work hourly?

No. Every engagement is priced as a fixed amount agreed before work begins. Hourly billing puts the client in the position of paying for our learning curve, and it makes budgeting impossible. If the scope is too vague to price, we ask a focused set of written questions until it can be quoted. Scoping is free and carries no obligation to proceed.

Can I get a fixed quote before committing?

Yes. Send a description of your sources and the output you need through the contact form and we reply with a written quote, a delivery window and a list of deliverables. Quotes are free, there is no obligation to proceed, and the quote is valid for 30 days.

What if the job is bigger than expected?

The agreed price stands for the agreed scope, and we absorb our own estimation errors. If the work you ask for genuinely falls outside that scope, for example a second data source or a new integration target, we stop, explain what changed and quote the additional work separately. That extra work only starts once you approve it in writing.

Do you offer refunds?

Work is invoiced in milestones. A milestone that has not been started or delivered can be refunded in full, while work that has been delivered and accepted is not refundable. Refund requests are handled through billing@tensorway.net. The full conditions, including timeframes, are in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Who owns the code you deliver?

You do, once the invoice is paid in full. Ownership of the deliverables transfers to you on final payment, as set out in our Terms of Service. We keep no licence over your business logic or your data.

Do you sign an NDA?

Yes, we sign standard mutual non-disclosure agreements before scoping when your project requires it, and we treat client data as confidential in any case. Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.

Get a fixed quote
